The Utrecht Sessions
CD B&T 032
|
|
Over the years Doug's song writing, singing, and playing are getting more intense and personal. The new record is a perfect example of
that continuing development. On most tracks it will be just Doug singing and playing guitar. The recording was done in a very old school
way. Doug sat down on a chair with a vocal mic, two mics for the guitars, and a mic for his foot. We added very sparse percussion and
bass on a few tracks. Like all Doug's albums since 1994, were looking to capture the live performances. As the title suggests, the
recordings were made in Utrecht (Netherlands), which has become Doug's favorite European city.

the Blues in Me
DVD B&T 1001
|
|
format: NTSC / multi region / 4:3
Although Doug has released a string of great studio recordings during his career, the real magic comes out during his shows and that is
why we decided to record one of Doug's live performances. Besides being a great songwriter and musician Doug is also a very gifted
storyteller. He's one of the few who had the opportunity to hang out with and learn from a lot of the great bluesmen during his musical
life. Besides more then 95 minutes of live concert video you will also find an interview that will give great insight into Doug's life.
You'll discover what the Blues means to Doug and what the music did for him. Plus we've included lots of other interesting bits and pieces
including old pictures, stories, and more. Total playing time almost 3 hours.

Where I Been
CD B&T 026
|
|
Where I Been turned out to be a concept album and it shows where Doug has been musically and personally. You'll hear the musical
influences of country blues, folk music, and electric blues. On the personal side, you'll hear in the lyrics some of the things Doug
has experienced and survived. There's humour here too. Doug truly believe that laughter is a key to gettln' a handle on life. And of
course you'll find hope running thru' this album too.

DUBB
CD B&T 022
|
|
|
Dubb is what George Harmonica Smith called Doug. He couldn't (or wouldn't) say Doug, so he called him Dubb. Like all the albums Doug has
done since 1994 there are no over-dubs on this one. You hear a performance, a musical snapshot in time by one of the last torchbearers
of the acoustic blues tradition. Doug doesn't like perfect records instead he likes the 'grease' and what he calls 'stretching of time'.
To him, that's where feeling lives. This new record contains 12 original songs and like his previous records it is produced by sound guru
Joe Harley.

A LITTLE SIN
CD B&T 013
|
|
|
Doug MacLeod is one of the few artists of today that know the strength of a good story. 'Never play a note you don't believe,' was the
advice he got from an old country blues player he met down in Virginia, Ernest Banks. In his songs he talks about things that can happen
to everyone of us, rich or poor, black or white. Through this he knows to reach out and touch people. This is what honest music is all
about. It's about giving a hand to somebody that's having a difficult time, bringing people together and having respect for each other.

Doug MacLeod Band
Live in 1991 vol. 1
DO B&T 906
|
|
The Doug MacLeod Band released four studio records but these never captured completely what the band was about. In Doug's own opinion
these live recordings do. Thanks to Jim Ho Lee who recorded the band live in the tradition of the Grateful Dead Deadheads this music
lives on. These songs are all written by Doug and were released on the albums including the unavailable German releases. The musicians
on these tracks include Ed Czach, Mike Thompson, and Rich Wenzel on Keyboards. Eric Ajaye and Bobby Tsukumoto on Bass. And last but
certainly not least Lee Spath on the Drums. This release will be available DIGITAL ONLY
